Cool list additions

Things I'm adding to my cool list: (Note: these are not in any order of significance)

  • easyDNS: flexible and powerful tools to manage DNS. I like their site and their toolset is focused and useful.
  • Temple Isaiah Preschool: Aurelia just got in! She will be starting the Teddy Bear program next week. The Teddy Bear program is just an hour and a half a week, but having a spot in it guarantees us a spot in the preschool. The director is fantastic and the school is literally across the street from us. But more on that in another post.
  • Leah Collins: wow what a cute baby. Congrats again to Geoff and Annie.
  • BMW service plan: Recently my front left turn signal indicator went out. I took in the car to have them look at it. Diana was freaked because the light is apparently like $800 to buy the part. Since we're still under the service plan (50k miles or 4 years), there was no charge. Also, they washed the car. Not that a carwash is a big deal... it's just kinda nice (especially since it was one less trip I had to make).

Things I'm adding to my shit list:

  • Network Solutions: old fashioned site with limited toolset for dns support. They sell a lot of other stuff too, so they don't focus on core services too much.

Walking.. here we come

After our weekend trip up to the Bay area, Aurelia is nearly standing on her own. I think watching the 2 older kids, Hunter (19 months) and Arianna (23 months), who walk and talk, inspired Aurelia. Now all she wants to do is stand on her own... it's awesome.

I'm sure Diana will post videos soon on Aurelia's site, http://aureliaviner.aboutmybaby.com.

B-star

If you haven't seen the new Battlestar Gallactica, you should. Like NOW. Put the first and second seasons on your Netflix list asap. If you're not a Netflix user, go to your nearest Hollywood Video, Blockbuster, or BitTorrent, and get the freakin' videos. They ROCK.

I remember watching the original when I was a little kid. (Yeah, I'm that old.) I love how they connect the old series and the new. (Yes, they even thought of that.) The acting is sometimes goofy.... but come on... it's scifi. it's always cheesy from time to time. Ever read Dune? or Lord of the Rings? or I, Robot? I love all of them, but you have to admit they are cheesy from time to time. (btw - the I, Robot movie with Will Smith sucked... the book by Isaac Asimov rocked.)

Just watch Battlestar Gallactica. It's better than the pretty much anything else on TV... the only exception that jumps to mind is The Daily Show.
