why apple is cool

The other day Diana's Ipod Shuffle broke. Out of the blue, it just broke. Wouldn't play music, wouldn't show up in iTunes. Bad stuff.

After futzing with it for a while, I took it into the Apple Store's Genius Bar. After waiting for like 20 minutes, I finally talked with the Genius. And after looking at it, he just gave me a new Shuffle. No questions asked. I signed a receipt saying that I received it. But that's was it. Brand spanking new Shuffle at no charge.

That is cool and GREAT service.

Experiences like this make me want more Apple products.

Having my iBook have it's logic board fail right after teh 1 year warranty sucked. This was made worse by the fact that The G3 iBooks had their logic boards replaced out of warranty becasue they were defective in MANY cases. But no such luck for us stuck with G4 iBooks, I believe they never fixed the issue as many people have the logic board failure problem I love OS X so much I went out a got a PowerBook, but I'm getting the extended warranty this time. My PowerBook's hard drive makes noise when it is moved, this was like that out of the box. I'm not so confident in their hardware these days. If you can install OS X on 'other' Intel hardware in the future I might go that route.
